2024 REALTOR® of the Year Announcement

Metro South Association of REALTORS® is proud to announce our 2024 REALTOR® of the Year, Kim Freshwater. Kim was selected among a number of her peers for her outstanding commitment to REALTOR® Spirit, civic activities, business accomplishments, and local, state, and national association participation.

Kim believes that all REALTORS® have made a commitment to professionalism, ongoing education, and protecting private property rights. She has made it her mission to make homeownership attainable for all, while treating everyone honestly and fairly. Kim works with integrity and diligently builds relationships, not only with buyers and sellers, but also fellow agents. In her own words, Kim believes “that a rising tide lifts all ships, and as REALTORS®, we should work together to build each other up to be better practitioners.”

Kim has been licensed since 2013 and currently holds a Georgia Broker’s License. Her designations and certifications include Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Commitment to Excellence (C2EX), Military Relocation Professional (MRP), Pricing Strategy Advisor (PSA), Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), Resort and Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS), Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR), and Seller Representative Specialist (SRS). She has been a member of the Metro South Circle of Excellence since 2015 and has been awarded the Metro South Good Neighbor Award and JL Christian Award. For the last 2 years, Kim has maintained her commitment as an RPAC Major Investor.

Kim understands that her reputation as a REALTOR® extends to every interaction in her life. She is a wonderful example of what it means to be a representative of the REALTOR® brand. Most recently, she had the opportunity to meet with Congressman Mike Collins of Georgia’s 10th District and Senator Jon Ossof at Capitol Hill, Washington, D.C. to share local, state, and national talking points and encourage pro-consumer, pro-homeownership, and pro-REALTOR® legislation.

Kim has served as the Treasurer of Butts Mutts, a local pet rescue, since July 2015. When she takes on a leadership position, she stays extremely committed. Her active roles include Butts County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Butts County Board of Zoning Appeals, Henderson Middle School Council, Jackson High School Career & Technical Advisory Committee, and Jackson Butts County Rotary Club. This year she became an Ambassador with the Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity Women Build. She is a member of the REALTORS® Land Institute, Real Estate Business Institute, and the Real Estate Buyer Agent Council.

Kim has served on the Georgia REALTORS® Conference Committee and Professional Development Committee. She has also served in a leadership capacity with Metro South since 2017, starting on the Community Services Committee and later becoming the Community Services Committee Chair. In 2023, she became our Vice President of Governmental Affairs and served on the Executive, Expo Planning, Community Services, RPAC, and Legislative Committees. This year, we are proud to recognize her as our 2024 President Elect.

Metro South is thrilled to congratulate Kim on her accomplishments. Having been selected as our local champion, she now gets to compete at the state level for the GAR REALTOR® of the Year title! When you see her out and about, be sure to congratulate her on this massive achievement!
